Celebrate alumni success and recognize some of the finest examples of leadership as we present the 2020 Volunteer of the Year Awards. This lively social will feature games and a few surprises, too.

  • MIZ / ZOU Sign: Grab that placard from your conference box for a fun game and prizes.
  • Camera Ready: You want to see your fellow volunteers and they want to see you! Plan to have your camera on during this celebratory social.
  • Look Sharp: Wear your favorite Mizzou gear. Accessorize with your new striped bandana and get creative! There will be a prize for the best-dressed Tiger.
  • Black & Gold Backdrop: Whether it is a fun Zoom background or a great looking Tiger room in your home – we will be looking to award the best Mizzou-themed setting.
  • Tiger Treats: This is a party so don’t forget the food and drinks! Some recipes were included in your box for inspiration along with cups, popcorn and a coaster.

Now more than ever, the Mizzou Alumni Leadership Conference is a vital part of preparing leaders for the important work we have to accomplish for the University of Missouri. This is a chance for our leaders to come together and align on our role in making Mizzou stronger.

The morning agenda features live presentations from campus leaders including:

  • President and Chancellor Mun Y. Choi
  • Vice Chancellor for Inclusion, Diversity & Equity Maurice Gipson
  • Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Bill Stackman along with current Mizzou students
  • We’ll also hear a special message from Head Football Coach Eli Drinkwitz and an update from Todd McCubbin, MAA Executive Director.

You’ll have the opportunity to submit questions and have them answered live during this broadcast.



Break for Lunch

Noon to 1:30 p,m., Central Time

Step away from your screen to enjoy lunch and take a technology break.



Virtual Networking Demo (Optional)

1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., Central Time

Alumni leaders have the opportunity to pilot a virtual networking platform MAA is testing. Volunteers will be matched with one another for quick, 5-minute video conversations. You can expect to connect with three fellow Tiger volunteers and evaluate if this platform is something you would like to use for your next networking event.

  • You will be paired with another volunteer leader participant randomly.
  • You two will video-chat for 3 minutes.
  • Decide after the chat if you want to exchange contact details with your partner.
  • Rinse and repeat five times!
  • After your fifth match we will convene as a full group to debrief and exchange feedback on the platform.

We have all been pushed into virtual engagement—whether we wanted to or not! Although there are challenges, we also have great opportunities to connect with Tigers we may have never been able to reach previously. MAA is launching a plan for centralized virtual engagement that we hope you will tag into. We also will present ideas for your organization to leverage virtual events to elevate engagement.
