Each active regional alumni chapter awards one Graham scholarship per academic year, worth $4,000 over four years. These awards are made possible by alumnus Robert A. ‘Red’ Graham, whose career in entertainment and professional athletics, coupled with his love of Mizzou, led him to create an endowment that funds these scholarships. Regional alumni chapters select these scholarship winners each year.
Across the country, the Mizzou Alumni Association supports a variety of regional alumni chapters who work to support MU through engaging students and alumni in their geographic region. A majority of our scholarships are provided by these regional chapters, who raise funds throughout the year to support area students who hope to attend MU.

Chapter leaders all across the country review submitted scholarship applications and, in some cases, interview local students when deciding their awards. These chapter scholarships are made possible through the allocation of membership dues and the local fundraising efforts of individual chapters. Awards range in amount and can be renewable or non-renewable, depending on the chapter and available funds.
Students may be considered for the MIZ Legacy Scholarship if a parent or grandparent previously attended the University of Missouri in Columbia. The scholarship is a one-time, non-renewable award available to incoming freshman students.

Please note the MIZ Legacy Scholarship is not an automatic award. Students are selected by a committee of alumni volunteers based on their academic record and essay responses. Students selected will be notified via email, and the award will be included in their official Mizzou Financial Aid package.

The MAA is proud to be able to honor the special relationship legacy families have with the University, and has awarded more than $800,000 in legacy scholarships to date.
