Fierce
devotion and ‘get it done energy’ were
used by one nominator to describe Tom
Schultz’s loyalty for Mizzou.
Having served in many volunteer roles
as well as many staff roles, Tom has
been a 24-7 Mizzou supporter, since
his graduation in 1956.
From
chapter leader in California and Wisconsin
to District Director in the
Lake of the Ozarks area, Tom made supporting
MU a priority in his life. As one nominator
wrote, “Tom was a go-to guy. He
made things happen.” In fact, by
1980 his successful service had propelled
him into the presidency of the Alumni
Association. That was followed quickly
in 1981 by his appointment as Vice Chancellor
of Alumni Relations.
Tom is best known for his spirit and
enthusiasm. Add to that his experience
and knowledge, and you can understand
why he is often seen mentoring newer
staff members. He is generous with his
time and advice. He leads by example
and rallys others to give of their time
and treasure on behalf of the Alma Mater.
Even now, in retirement, Tom continues
to stomp for Mizzou!
