1997 Tiger Pride Award
S. Wayne Yokely
S. Wayne Yokley's career supporting
Mizzou began as he received his BS in
Animal Science from the University and
it has never wavered, only intensified.
Currently Wayne is Director of Market
Development for the Missouri Department
of Agriculture. In that capacity he also
promotes MU, making sure that young people
have a chance to spend some time on campus.
It's just one of the ways he takes the
alumni recruitment mission seriously.
Wayne is president of the Ag Alumni
Organization and was instrumental in the
creation of the Ag Unlimited Auction to
raise scholarship monies. But he didn't stop
there! He is also a member of the Cole
County Chapter Board of Directors and
has put his leadership skills to work
at the annual Chapter Bar-B-Cue as well.
Wayne's nominator wrote that his
"exemplary promotion and vision of the
University" set him apart as an outstanding
volunteer. His willingness to work hard
to showcase alumni activities and his
tireless efforts in recruiting good students,
caused one writer to say, " When
I think of MU, I think of Wayne Yokley.
When I think of Wayne Yokley, I think
of MU!"
There is no better testament to
outstanding leadership than a role model
who always brings to mind the University
he honors with his volunteerism.
This Tiger Pride award is presented
with our deepest gratitude for your support
of our alma mater. Congratulations, Tiger! |
