Alumni Association Student Board

2008 AASB Roster

The board is a diverse, enthusiastic group of students whose primary objective is to strengthen the University through student-alumni relationships. Hard-working, dedicated members are chosen from more than 150 applicants each fall. Selection is based on a written application and series of personal interviews.

AASB members serve as ambassadors and tradition keepers of the University of Missouri and its students. Some of AASB’s most recognized events are Tiger Walk, Mizzou ’39, Senior Send-Off and Beat kU Week. Members of AASB play an active role in promoting and hosting these events.

The board also serves as the governing board of True Tigers. True Tigers is the student chapter of the Mizzou Alumni Association and has over 4,800 members. Through various programs and events, True Tigers become “alumni in training” and begin to establish a lifelong relationship with the university.

With membership, AASB students assume the responsibility of becoming the next generation of MU alumni leaders. AASB members attend alumni chapter meetings, class reunions and scholarship events throughout Missouri as well as various alumni events. AASB members have many opportunities to interact with Mizzou alums at these events and functions. Interaction with our outstanding alumni provides members insight on Mizzou and career opportunities.

AASB belongs to the Association of Student Advancement Programs, the national network of Student Alumni Associations and Student Foundations groups, all with the common goal of enriching student advancement programming. Through ASAP, AASB members attend several conferences around the country each year, providing them with resources and opportunities for networking and leadership development in order to promote student involvement in educational advancement.
Carrie Bien, a junior from Overland Park, KS, is the District 6 Representative to the ASAP International Board. To contact Carrie, please click here.
