Mizzou Legacy Walk
During the Mizzou Alumni Association’s 150th anniversary the organization searched for a project to generate additional revenue for student scholarships. They found the opportunity right outside its door.
The walkway leading up to the Reynolds Alumni Center has been transformed into the Mizzou Legacy Walk, dedicated during Homecoming Weekend October 19, 2007.
When completed 2,576 bricks donated by alumni and Tiger fans will be featured in the Mizzou Legacy Walk project. Each brick features a personalized inscription from the donor. Granite strips between sections of bricks are etched with the association’s six guideposts.
Net proceeds from the Mizzou Legacy Walk will support student scholarships. The multiyear project is being completed in stages as donors continue to purchase the spaces to replace the remaining blank bricks. “The goal is to fill up the walkway within 3-4 years,” says David Roloff, director of membership and marketing for the alumni association.
To date, donors have purchased 1,486 bricks, which has generated more than $585,000, Roloff says. March 1, 2010 is the deadline for Phase XIII of the bricks, which will be installed before commencement weekend, May 13-15. Now is the time to mark your name in MU history!
A portion of the proceeds will be used to install, maintain, and improve the Mizzou Legacy Walk.

A contribution of $375* and above to the Mizzou Alumni Association entitles you to recognition on a brick paver in Mizzou Legacy Walk, located at the entrance to the Reynolds Alumni Center. Contributions are 100% tax-deductible and qualify for most matching-gift programs.

What you print on a brick is your choice. Keep in mind any space between letters or any punctuation mark should be counted as a character. Feel free to use your inscription to honor a friend or family member, as a gift, or to list an organization or business. You do not need to use all three lines, if you choose.
