Online and Beyond

Online and Beyond It has been five years since the Mizzou Alumni Association's Web site was redesigned. On April 28, 2009, the association unveiled the new mizzou.com and it brings more than a fresh look and feel.

Mizzou alumni, fans and friends will be able to network more easily, connect to more services and programs faster and find much more content of interest to the Tiger Nation. More than 40% of all the pages on the new mizzou.com are new. Expanding information of interest to a variety of Tiger tastes and needs is something the association is most proud of says David Roloff, director of membership and marketing for MAA. He leads the effort to make the site a favorite in every Tiger’s web browser.

With the site up and running, Roloff needs help. He asks that all alumni new to mizzou.com click “First Time Login” on the top tool bar. Then, simply follow directions to create a free account and update your profile, and you’ll be on your way to helping MAA build an exciting, diverse, worldwide online community of alumni. Returning registered users can select the “Login” button at the top corner of the web site to access the premium features of mizzou.com.

The new Web site is intended to serve all MU graduates whether or not they are members of the Mizzou Alumni Association. MU students, fans, and friends of MU may also access the premium features of the site (if they are MAA members). Premium features include the online alumni directory, online social group community pages, class notes, message boards, online chat and more.

The re-launch of the web site is an upgrade from the old site in many aesthetic ways and one critically practical way, says Roloff. Besides the new look, the site features better organization and more content than the old site. But the biggest improvement is the addition of a digital community, built around a constantly-updated alumni directory. With this tool and some active participation, Tigers around the world can locate each other and gather around common interests.

Alumni who are logged into the site can post detailed information about themselves. Marriages, births, job changes, hobbies, and more can all be added. Photo galleries can be posted. Job networking is possible; resumes can be posted. Alumni will always be able to decide who gets to see any information they add including customized friends lists and online social group participants.

Take a moment to explore the “new” mizzou.com today and discover the programs, services and opportunities made available to you through the Mizzou Alumni Association.
