Mizzou alumnus, Ironman triathlete and nationally recognized sports medicine physician Dr. Jordan D. Metzl, AB ’88, MD ’93, released a new book this week called The Athlete’s Book of Home Remedies: 1,001 Doctor-Approved Health Fixes and Injury-Prevention Secrets.
The book serves as a comprehensive guide for fitness and sports buffs, empowering readers to self-diagnose, treat and prevent aches and pains associated with athletics. Also included in the head-to-toe diagnostic manual are answers to other common training questions for athletes at any level like, “what should I eat to fuel my workouts?” and “What exercises can I do to prevent injury and perform at the next level?”
Using knowledge and skills he gained at Mizzou, Dr. Metzl has become one of New York’s top sports medicine doctors according to New York Magazine. He lectures and teaches across the globe and appears regularly on “Today” and “Good Morning America.”
