What is the Chancellor’s Society?
The Chancellor’s Society honors some of MU’s most loyal donors for both their annual and lifetime gifts to the Chancellor’s Fund for Excellence. Members of the Chancellor’s Society support the campus as a whole, enhancing the success of the University of Missouri.
Chancellor’s Society annual members contribute at least $1,000 each year to the Chancellor’s Fund for Excellence. Donors with cumulative giving of $25,000 or more through cash gifts or pledges to the fund are honored as lifetime members of the Chancellor’s Society. If you desire to make a meaningful difference in the future of MU, the Chancellor’s Society is a perfect place to begin.
Why should I join?
Membership in the Chancellor’s Society enhances the university’s ability to address outstanding needs and capitalize on timely opportunities. Examples abound.
MU recruits faculty, such as cancer researcher M. Frederick Hawthorne, who are globally recognized for their achievements. Your support enables MU’s undergraduate researchers to explore topics as diverse as bioengineering, video game music and how children learn to communicate. Your support allows us to work across disciplines to meet high priorities of the university.
Chancellor’s Society members help support the university financially, and their leadership is evident at every level of MU governance. Its members have held or currently hold leadership positions in:
- Jefferson Club Board of Trustees
- National Campaign Steering Committee
- Chancellor’s Fund for Excellence Development Committee
- Mizzou Legislative Network
- MU’s Parents Development Council
- Academic Units advisory committee
- MU Development Council
By becoming a member of the Chancellor’s Society, you endorse a university that surpasses the sum of its parts. This perspective encompasses this great flagship institution in its entirety, allocating resources to accomplish a vision for the future.
Donors whose annual gifts total $1,000 or more are included in the Chancellor’s Society annual membership level.
