As a 1982 Mizzou graduate with a degree in Education, Sherri is a lifetime member of the Mizzou Alumni Association. The alumni chapter of central Indiana was practically non-existent until a few years ago when, while attending a tailgate party prior to a Mizzou football game against Ball State in Muncie, Indiana, Sherri embarked on restoring the roar in central Indiana.
In May of 2004, Sherri volunteered to host a meeting at her home to commence the organization of a formal chapter. The fifteen plus people attending the meeting initiated the Indiana Mizzou Crew. Sherri performed the role of hostess admirably by not only holding many of the following meetings in her home, but undertaking the assignments of working on chapter bylaws, attending Leaders Weekend, editing the chapter newsletter, and keeping the chapter up to date and on task. Through Sherri’s diligence, the Indiana Mizzou Crew achieved Columns status.
Because of her hard work, Sherri was elected chapter president, a job she worked at tirelessly, until January 2007, when her husband’s job moved the family to Memphis, Tennessee.
Sherri’s determination and will as a leader and team worker make her a strong role model for everyone following in her footsteps. We are delighted this evening to present the Regional Tiger Pride Award to Sherri Forrest-Gallick.
