Robyn Baker, BS Ag ‘99
2006 Missouri Mizzou G.O.L.D.
When Robyn Baker took off her cap and gown, she wasted no time putting
on the cape of leadership in the Callaway County Chapter. In his support of her nomination, former president Marty Kehoe called Roby the “MVP ” of the chapter! Nominator, Mary Ann Beahan, concurs.
Heather jumped into volunteerism right after her graduation. She has served the Callaway County Chapter as Secretary for 2 terms and as President for 2 terms.
These titles do not begin to reflect the array of ways in which Robyn has given active support through her Chapter.
During her tenure on the Board, Robyn has compiled 4 nominations for the Chapter and chaired the Student Send - Off Picnic 4 years in a row. She has chaired, co - chaired or served on three other Chapter committees.
Last year, Robyn was invited to present a session at Leaders Training, based on her success in chapter management. At one of the sessions she attended, she learned some new ideas from other leaders and subsequently developed the “Sock - it to the Jayhawks” project, collecting new white socks at a watch party and delivering them to nursing home patients.
While her primary focus for the Chapter has been in leadership of alumni activities, she has also participated actively in activities that focus on future alumni.
Giving high school seniors a taste of Tiger Stripe Ice Cream to further excite them about attending MU and expanding that to include MU alumni who are educators, won her accolades from fellow board members, as well as widening the circle of Mizzou's influence in Callaway County .
