2002 Mizzou G.O.L.D. Award

Jill Palucci

‘Spirit’ is one word that appeared in each nominator’s letter for Jill Palucci. Beyond that, Jill’s volunteer service is characterized by a comprehensive leadership style that has touched many alumni in her chapter.

On campus Jill had the chance to develop her own leadership style. She worked part time in the Alumni Office, learning the inside scoop on valuable ways that volunteers can really make a difference for MU. As a member of the Alumni Association Student Board she met alumni volunteers and learned firsthand, of the efforts of many more volunteers.

Upon moving to Memphis, Jill became active in the Memphis-Mid South Chapter right away. Attendance quickly developed into volunteering and that led to leadership.
As president of her chapter Jill has paved the way for a variety of chapter events designed for families of all ages. Jill regularly solicits opinions from members on ways to improve the chapter and accommodate all members.

One supporter especially praised Jill’s concern for what he calls “Ancient Tigers.” Taking time to recognize health needs and to visit personally with alumni, Jill has helped many guests feel welcome at chapter activities. As one fan reported, “Jill is smart, courteous and considerate of everyone.”

The Chapter leaders report that Jill is a perfect Mizzou ambassador, displaying her Association member decal and showing those around her that she is very proud to be a Tiger.
