The University of Missouri-Columbia has 208,668 alumni worldwide including entrepreneurs, actors, philanthropists and scientists. To honor those alumni who have worked to maintain tiger spirit wherever they are, the Mizzou Alumni Association has established the Mizzou G.O.L.D. Award.
Robin R. Wenneker, St. Louis, was the Missouri resident recipient of this award at the Association's annual Leaders' Weekend awards banquet Sept. 28. This award is for a graduate of the last decade who has given outstanding volunteer service to the University through the association and/or any of its affiliates. One award goes to a Missouri resident and one is for a graduate living outside Missouri.
Wenneker graduated from MU in 1991 and hasn't stopped being involved with MU activities since then. She has worked as a Tiger Tracker, a recruiter for local high school students for admission, in Denver, Colo., and Atlanta, Ga. While in Atlanta, Wenneker also re-chartered the Atlanta Missouri Alumni Chapter in 1994 and served as its president. She moved to St. Louis in 1997.
She has been active as a member of the St. Louis Alumni Chapter, has served as the athletics liaison and has been active on the scholarship committee. She has acted as chair and co-chair of the Grant's Farm annual auction. Her work with the Mizzou Tiger Club includes serving as the membership/communication director and alumni liaison.
Wenneker also has been active in several community activities. A member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, she was the recipient of the Lambert Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation Scholarship this year, and has been a member of several advisory boards and alumni chapters. She has been involved with the Junior League of St. Louis, the United Way, and Court Appointed Special Advocates in St. Louis, Atlanta and Denver.
