2000 Mizzou G.O.L.D. Award
Amy Pyle
Many University of Missouri alumni sport temporary tattoos for athletic events. But you know you've stumbled upon a serious Mizzou graduate when the tiny MU tiger paw tattoo is permanent.
Amy Pyle of Kansas City, a senior account manager with Three Wide LLC, is the Association's Mizzou G.O.L.D (Graduate of the Last Decade) recipient. Like her tattoo, Amy's dedication and volunteer service to the University have become a permanent part of her life.
Amy, who is a board member of the Kansas City Alumni Chapter, is involved in many facets of the association. Currently she is the membership chair of her chapter and has developed a referral program for recruiting new members to the association. She also has used the University's Tiger Tracker program to encourage alumni who are new to the Kansas City area to get involved with the local chapter.
This 1993 MU graduate also founded the chapter's social committee and has developed several social programs to encourage a more diverse group of alumni to become active with the local chapter. Amy's enjoyment of sports also led her to organize bus trips to away football and basketball games. Many of her happy hour events and bus trips are legendary.
"Not only does Amy bleed black and gold, she breathes it!" said Madelynn Garffie, president of the Kansas City Chapter, and the person who nominated Amy for this award. "Amy has been key in bringing younger people to our chapter to carry on proud traditions that others leave as legacy."
For the Association, Amy has been a presenter at Leaders Training and recently served on the Chapter Program Committee. In her community, Amy also is involved in the Junior League of Kansas City and enjoys traveling and anything sports-related.
