1999 Mizzou G.O.L.D. Award
Jennifer Nanna
In his nomination of Jennifer Nanna, Jack Rice wrote, "in her heart she never left Columbia."
With a 1995 degree in Journalism and unlimited enthusiasm, Jennifer Nanna is the 'spirit' of the Washington D. C. Chapter . We know this because 2 presidents of the chapter said so!
What does she do in the Chapter? Jack Rice characterized her role as "probably the most miserable job in any volunteer organization" and he called it "ways & means." In the D.C. Chapter 'Ways and Means' is translated into "Coordinator of Special Events" - the first one to arrive and the last one to leave an event! She handles a myriad of details to see that the Chapter provides the "absolute best events for the Chapter members."
In addition, Jennifer's marketing expertise has been devoted to fostering the chapter's goals. She is involved in every activity of the Chapter. She uses her development skills to identify and obtain donors for goods and services that the chapter can offer others at game watch parties and chapter events. Several times she has obtained airline tickets to be raffled for the chapter's scholarship program. AND, she has even obtained contributions from KU fans at game watch parties!
Her nominators agree that Jennifer's enthusiasm for Mizzou knows no bounds, that her enthusiastic participation is contagious, and that she is personally responsible for the success of the annual chapter picnic.
We agree with them! And are proud to present you with the 1999 Mizzou G.O.L.D. Award. Congratulations, Jennifer!
